Fetus found in trash in Port Area, Manila

A fetus was discovered in a garbage pile near the seawall of Baseco Compound in Port Area, Manila, on Thursday night, March 6.

The Manila Police District (MPD) said the fetus, estimated to be 36 weeks old, was found by a woman who was searching for plastic scraps. The scavenger said she noticed a white fabric inside a black plastic bag.

Upon checking the plastic bag, she found the fetus wrapped in a white blanket with bloodstains, prompting her to report it to authorities.

The MPD said they are now investigating who dumped the fetus.
