The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has granted a Pangasinan-based agriculture enterprise with P1 million in training fund to support its vertical salt farm technology and boost local salt production.
DOLE Undersecretary for Employment and Human Resource Development Cluster Carmela I. Torres led the turnover of the check to Pacific Farms, Inc. in a ceremony held last Feb. 28. She was joined by regional officers of DOLE in Central Luzon and company officials.
Funded under the DOLE Adjustment Measures Program (AMP), the project will be implemented in two phases—capacity-building and training application—to enhance production efficiency.
The initiative aims to modernize salt farming by optimizing land use, accelerating evaporation, and increasing yield to reduce the country’s reliance on imported salt.
Torres emphasized AMP’s role in helping micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) adopt innovative and sustainable practices, commending Pacific Farms for setting industry standards.
AMP provides financial aid to MSMEs, labor organizations, and accredited co-partners to support workforce upskilling, business expansion, product development, and productivity improvement.
