A 69-year-old man who was declared dead by his family was finally captured in Quezon City after nearly 31 years of hiding to evade arrest.
The Valenzuela City Police Station (VCPS) identified the suspect as “Pedring Acha” or “Badok,” a resident of Batasan, Quezon City.
VCPS officers served an arrest warrant against Badok on Saturday, March 1, for killing a relative in 1994 following a family dispute.
VCPS Chief Col. Nixon Cayaban said the suspect was the city’s second most wanted person and had managed to evade arrest for decades.
Authorities discovered that Badok had been declared dead by his family. But through social media monitoring, they confirmed that he was still alive and hiding in Quezon City.
The arrest warrant was issued on November 26, 2024, by Judge Mateo Altarejos of the Regional Trial Court Branch 172 in Valenzuela City.
The police confirmed that Badok’s accomplice had already been arrested last year.
The suspect has been turned over to the custodial facility and will face murder charges under Article 248 of the Revised Penal Code.
