House Speaker Martin Romualdez has called on his fellow Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) stalwarts to take on the duty of helping ensure the conduct of a clean and credible elections on May 12.
On Thursday, March 6, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) recognized Lakas-CMD as the dominant majority party in the country ahead of the mid-term polls this year.
"This also means ensuring that the 2025 elections are clean, credible, and orderly. Dominant status comes with the duty to help safeguard the democratic process, making sure that the people’s will is upheld and that governance remains focused on their needs," Romualdez said in a statement.
"To our members and supporters: This is more than just a title. It is a call to work harder, to serve better, and to prove once again that Lakas-CMD is not just a party of influence—it is a party of action," the Leyte 1st district congressman added.
Romualdez, who is lying for his third term in the House of Representatives, sits as president of Lakas-CMD.
Lakas-CMD is the arguably the most important cog in the President Marcos-led administration coalition. Marcos is belongs to the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), where he is the chairman.
