Following their four-set triumph over the Shaina Nitura-led Adamson, the Golden Tigresses aim to continue their victorious ways against the Fighting Maroons in their 5 p.m. showdown.

Opening the women’s double-header at 11 a.m. is the collision between University of the East and Far Eastern University.

Angge Poyos, one of the key players behind UST’s successful run so far that erased the bitter taste of the team's season-opening loss to FEU, expressed her excitement to perform against UP after being sidelined in last season’s second round.

“Excited na ako na makatapat sila, for sure marami na silang mga bagong players and sana [maging] maganda ‘yong laban,” said Poyos.

“Nakita naman natin sila na hindi na sila basta-basta, so syempre paghahandaan namin, tyatyagain namin and excited din kami na may matutunan sa kanila,” added UST libero and skipper Detdet Pepito.

Poyos is expected to carry the scoring cudgels for the Kungfu Reyes-mentored crew alongside Regina Jurado, Marga Altea, Mabeth Hilonggo, Pia Abbu, Bianca Plaza and top-notch setter Cassie Carballo.

UP, which is coming off losses to De La Salle University and Ateneo, is banking on Irah Jaboneta, Joan Monares, Nina Ytang, and Kianne Dolango as the Maroons go for a recovery win.

Meanwhile in the men's division, FEU tries to extend its unbeaten streak to five versus the winless UE when they clash at 11 a.m., while UST shoots for its fourth straight win against UP at 3 p.m.
