Teen injured after fighting off 3 robbers: 1 suspect arrested
A 17-year-old teenager sustained two stab wounds after resisting three robbers along Mel Lopez Boulevard in Tondo, Manila on Tuesday, March 4.
One of the three suspects, who attempted to steal the victim's bicycle, was arrested.
Barangay authorities said the victim is not a resident of the area but previously worked in the area as a garbage collector.
The victim said he encountered the three suspects on the road.
The victim fought back against the suspects, which led to one of them pulling out a knife and stab him twice in the back.
Despite his injuries, the victim managed to run and ask for help.
He was rushed to the hospital by concerned bystanders.
The three suspects immediately fled with the bicycle, but residents chased after them, causing the suspects to scatter.
According to the barangay officials, they were able to capture one of the suspects.
The suspect has been placed under the custody of the Manila Police District,. A manhunt has been launched for his two accomplices.
