Rider plunges to death in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY – A 38-year-old man plunged to his death into a canal while driving a bicycle in Purok Hermilinda, Barangay Mansilingan here on Tuesday, March 4.

Police Capt. Dax Santillan, head of Police Station 7, identified the victim as Jason.

Santillan said the victim failed to notice the canal because the area is not well-lighted. The victim hit the side of the canal and sustained head injuries.

Santillan said the canal has no railings to prevent people from falling. Police said the victim was found lifeless by residents.

He said that he has coordinated with the barangay for the installation of a street light to prevent a similar incident.
