An agreement was recently signed between PSHS-WVC Campus Director Dr. Myrna Libutaque and MORE Power President and CEO Roel Castro.
The creation of the nursery in Barangay Bitoon, Jaro District will propagate seedlings for MORE Power’s tree-growing projects.
The nursery will also serve as a learning hub for students and faculty to learn seedling propagation, tree care, and conservation efforts.
“This initiative not only supports environmental conservation, but also enhances our students’ educational experiences,” said Libutaque in a statement.
The project encourages strong participation from students and faculty of PSHS-WVC in maintaining the nursery.
The nursery will prioritize propagating seedlings for mostly indigenous trees and plants.
The facility is timely as PSHS-WVC celebrates its 33rd founding anniversary and MORE Power is marking its fifth year as Iloilo City’s sole power distributor.
