NCRPO arrests ex-cop in DILG most wanted list; 8 of 10 most wanted in Metro Manila collared

Metro Manila police chief Brig. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin
Operatives of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) arrested a 49-year old former policeman, who was in hiding since 2006 for a case of murder, in a follow-up operation in San Fernando, Pampanga.
NCRPO director Brig. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin said the arrested ex-cop was listed as number 8 in the most wanted list of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and is facing a murder case before the Branch 142 of the Makati City Regional Trial Court.
“After decades of hiding, this elusive most wanted person is finally arrested and will face trial. This is NCRPO commitment. We will ensure that the long arms of the law will reach those who continually evade it, and we shall do this with the end in view of delivering justice to all, through effective and efficient law enforcement,” said Aberin.
Last month, the NCRPO arrested the ten most wanted in its list in a span of one week.
Eight of the 10 most wanted persons that replaced them, on the other hand, were also arrested in the first four days of March this year.
Most of the eight wanted persons arrested, according to Aberin, ias facing rape and acts of lasciviousness cases.
“These high-profile arrests mark a significant victory in NCRPO’s relentless efforts to bring fugitives to justice. Authorities continue to urge the public to report any information on wanted persons and remain vigilant in supporting law enforcement initiatives,” said Aberin.
““The campaign against most wanted persons is given utmost priority by NCRPO pursuant to our commitment of ensuring that justice is served for the victims of heinous crimes, making criminals accountable for their lawlessness and violations of law,” he added.
