Man, 59, arrested for raping young relative in Rizal

A man, listed as the second most wanted person in Rizal province, was apprehended in an operation conducted by the police in the municipality of Rodriguez on Monday, March 3, for raping his young relative.

The Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO) identified the suspect as “Greg.” He was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court (RTC), Fourth Judicial Region, Branch 77, for acts of lasciviousness, with a bail set at P180,000, and qualified statutory rape, a non-bailable offense.

Based on the investigation, the suspect is reportedly the victim's uncle. He has been abusing his niece repeatedly from 2019 until 2023.

The accused is now under the custody of the Baras police. (Vincent Brian Gutierrez)
