CAMP COL. RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – Four-hundred eighty-one wanted persons were arrested in the Caraga region from Jan. 1 to March 3.

Ninety of them were most wanted persons – 25 on the regional, 35 on the provincial, and 30 on the city and municipal levels.
The Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division-13 said the Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office nabbed 128, followed by the Surigao del Sur PPO with 109, Butuan City Police Office (BCPO), 102; Agusan del Norte PPO, 77; Agusan del Sur PPO, 61, and Dinagat Islands PPO, four.
Among those caught was Arl, a New People’s Army squad leader.
Arl, who was nabbed on Jan. 9, is an MWP on the regional level wanted for two counts of murder, two counts of frustrated murder, and three counts of attempted murder.
PRO 13-Regional Public Information Office chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said Arl was among the communist rebels who attacked soldiers in Palo 8, Barangay San Juan, Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur, on Feb. 13, 2021, where one officer was killed and several of his men were wounded.
PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Christopher N. Abrahano commended operating units for their achievements.
“This significant accomplishment highlights the effective collaboration among the police, other law enforcement agencies, and the public,” he said. “The successful arrest of nearly 500 wanted individuals greatly contributes to our ongoing efforts to ensure peace and order in the Caraga region.”
