A 52-year-old security guard was arrested by the San Juan City Police and Eastern Police District Mobile Force Battalion on Monday, March 3, for repeatedly raping and hurting his 10-year-old stepdaughter in Barangay Balong Bato, San Juan City.

The police identified the suspect as "Abel," who is also tagged as the No. 8 most wanted person of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).

Abel was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the Family Court Branch 14 in San Juan City dated Feb. 25, 2025, for violation of Sec 10(a) of RA 7610 (Child Abuse Act) and for the crime of Statutory Rape (2 counts).

According to the police report, the suspect raped his stepdaughter multiple times in 2024, followed by an incident of physical abuse in December of the same year.

This prompted the victim to report her stepfather to the police.

"As enforcers of the law, our never-ending aspiration and devotion to serve and protect our people and the nation beyond our call of duty evidently prove our fundamental role in serving with passion and compassion in addressing crimes, especially in handling vulnerable cases such as sexual and physical abuse, wherein innocent children are the common victims. This is a sad truth, but we ensure the delivery of our utmost service with dignity because we value those whom we have sworn to serve," EPD director Col. Villamor Tuliao said.

"The apprehension of a.k.a. “Abel” manifests our dedication to let justice be served to the victim. We guarantee that he will be held liable for his inhumane acts," he added.

Abel has been placed under the custody of the San Juan City Police.
