TACLOBAN CITY - The city government of Borongan has approved an ordinance allocating a P250 monthly financial assistance to all qualified Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

“This monetary assistance aims to mitigate the adverse effects of inflation and the rising cost of living on PWDs, who often face unique challenges in securing sustainable income and meeting their daily needs.”
To qualify, the beneficiary must be a registered voter and a bonafide resident physically residing within the city for at least six months without interruption.
The fund for the monthly allowance is sourced from the gender and development budget.
Mayor Jose Ivan Dayan Agda said the assistance for PWDs is only one of the social services provided by the city government to achieve inclusive growth.
To date, the city has over 1,400 registered PWDs with the City Social Welfare and Development Office.
The ordinance was effective immediately.
