2 drug pushers nabbed, P7.5-M shabu seized in buy-bust

ILOILO CITY â€” Police arrested two drug pushers and seized shabu worth P7.5 million in a buy-bust operation here on Tuesday, March 4.

The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) identified the suspects as Ariane and companion Toto.

The 48-year-old Ariane was listed as one of the top drug suppliers in the Western Visayas region.

City police chief Col. Kim Legada said it was biggest recovery for ICPO in the anti-drug campaign so far this year.

The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) under Capt. Ryan Inot led apprehending units.

Recovered from the suspects were 39 sachets of shabu weighing a total of 1.1 kilos.

Police Major Shella Mae Sangrines, ICPO spokesperson, said Ariane was first arrested in 2016.

Sangrines said that intelligence reports showed that Ariane returned to drug peddling following his release from prison in February 2024.
