Joseph Frederick Calulut, PDEA spokesman, said the suspect Christopher, reportedly a former resident of Barangay Pulo Maestra Vita, Oton, Iloilo, faces charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165 the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Calulut said their investigation will look into the possible sources of the contraband, including owner of the car driven by Christopher flagged down in a checkpoint near the pier exit.

He said the case is still subject to an inter-regional investigation and data sharing of all law enforcement agencies in Luzon, Mimaropa (Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan), and Iloilo.
Christopher has not lived in Oton for the last 10 years after his house was gutted by fire in 2015 and transferred to nearby Pavia town and worked as truck driver.
He reportedly does not have previous criminal record as a drug user or peddler.
