The Malabon City government has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Malabon City Police Station (MCPS) in its intensified anti-criminality operations.
Mayor Jeannie Sandoval commended the city's police force for their dedication and assured them of continued logistical and financial support from the local government.
The city has provided patrol vehicles, motorcycles, computers, drones, and protective gear to enhance police capabilities.
"Sa pagpapanatili ng kaayusan at kapayapaan sa lungsod, makakaasa ang ating lokal na kapulisan sa suporta ng pamahalaang lungsod. Saludo tayo sa kanilang dedikasyon at sakripisyo, sa pagbibigay ng kanilang pawis, dugo, at lakas upang masiguro ang seguridad sa lungsod at magbigay ng proteksiyon sa mga mahal nating Malabueno (In maintaining order and peace in the city, our local police can count on the full support of the city government. We salute their dedication and sacrifice, as they give their sweat, blood, and strength to ensure the city's security and provide protection to our beloved Malabueno residents),” she said.
“Naririto lang ang pamahalaang lungsod upang umalalay sa mga operasyong ito na nagsisigurong ligtas ang ating lungsod at ang mga mamamayan nito (The city government is here to support these operations that ensure the safety of our city and its residents),” Sandoval added.
City Administrator Dr. Alexander Rosete also emphasized that public cooperation is essential in sustaining peace and order in Malabon.
"Ang ating pakikipagtulungan sa ating kapulisan ay nagbigay ng magagandang resulta sa pagpapanatili ng kaayusan at pagbawas ng kriminalidad sa lungsod (Our collaboration with our police has produced excellent results in maintaining order and reducing criminality in the city),” he said.
“Ngunit, hindi ito maisasagawa kung tanging pamahalaang lungsod at pulis ang nagtutulungan. Kailangan natin ng pagkakaisa at malasakit upang mapanatiling maayos at payapa ang ating komunidad (However, this cannot be accomplished if only the city government and the police work together. We need unity and compassion to keep our community orderly and peaceful),” Rosete added.
MCPS chief Col. Jay Baybayan said that the city achieved a 38.18 percent crime reduction in the first quarter of the year.
The reported crime incidents dropped from 54 to 34 cases between Jan. and March due to intensified police operations and stronger community partnerships.
Among the notable achievements of the MCPS was seizure of P6,000,000 worth of illegal drugs in 86 anti-drug operations, leading to 107 arrests. Seventeen firearms were confiscated and 18 suspects were apprehended.
Police also arrested 110 wanted persons, including high-profile criminals, and confiscated P71,611 worth of gambling paraphernalia in 11 anti-gambling operations.
Baybayan expressed gratitude for the local government’s continued support and urged residents to help sustain the city's peace and order.
He also reminded residents about the ongoing checkpoints and Oplan S.I.T.A. operations and encouraged them to fully cooperate with authorities.
Currently, the MCPS has 518 personnel deployed in seven substations, each assigned to different specialized units to ensure the safety of Malabon residents.
