Aquino, whose family came from Concepcion, Tarlac, was dubbed the “Gentleman from Tarlac” during his first term in the Senate.

In his speech during the proclamation rally of Team MaYap in Tarlac City, he called on Tarlaqueño to help bring him back to the upper chamber.

To those with us here in 2025, bring back a representative of our beloved province to the Senate),” the former senator said, adding that he can work together with local officials to help Tarlac province.

All the things that are being mentioned tonight will be more possible if we have a partner in the Senate),” Aquino furthered.

As author of the Free College Law, the former senator said that Tarlaqueño students, particularly from the Tarlac State University (TSU) and Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), have been benefiting from the law for seven years.

Ang Tarlac Agricultural University, hindi rin po malayo diyan (TSU was named as the best university in Central Luzon. The Tarlac Agricultural University is not far behind),” he said.

It’s only right to help Filipino families send their children to school for free),” Aquino added.

With the help of the Free College Law, some 63,000 students have graduated from the TAU and TSU from 2017 to 2024.

This year, more than 20,000 students are currently benefiting from the law in the state universities and colleges in Tarlac.

The former senator is running under the platform of free education and guaranteed employment.
