BACOLOD CITY – A 58-year-old woman was killed when the car she was riding in plunged into a ravine in Sitio Talus, Barangay Igmaya-an, Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental on Saturday, March 29.

Police Major Ryan Villasario, Don Salvador Benedicto police chief, identified the fatality as Daisy, a resident of Bago City, Negros Occidental.
Villasario said the victim was among eight persons onboard a Sports Utility Vehicle driven by a policewoman that fell off a 50-meter-deep cliff.
Police said Daisy was the last person to be rescued after she was stuck inside the vehicle that turned on its side. Daisy died passed away due to head injuries.
Villasario said seven other persons sustained injuries and recuperating in a private hospital here – two cops with the ranks of corporal and patrolman, two policewomen with the rank of corporal, two children, and another woman.
Police said the vehicle fell into the ravine when the driver, a lady police officer, lost control while approaching a curve.
Villasario said that they are awaiting equipment that will help remove the car from the accident site.
