Two more mayors from Metro Manila have endorsed Makati City Mayor Abby Binay's bid for senator in the upcoming May 12 mid-term elections.
Raising Binay's hand during separate campaign sorties last March 28 were Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano and San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora.

The endorsements are seen to further strengthen the candidacy of Binay, who has proven to be a contender based on pre-election surveys.
In her speech, Binay vowed to champion inclusive and progressive policies and replicating Makati’s effective and successful programs nationwide.

Earlier, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte endorsed the administration bet and asked Quezon City residents to make her the number one senator in the city. Belmonte cited Binay's strong leadership and track record as a lawyer, congresswoman, and mayor.
March 28 marks the start of the campaign period for the local officials, and with this comes the expectation that senatorial candidates will be more open in courting the support of local government units (LGUs).
Binay, 49, is running under the Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial ticket.
