Nissan unveils all-new 2025 Patrol in the Philippines

Ready to rule the luxury SUV segment

033025NissanPatrol1.jpgWe first got to see the all-new Nissan Patrol when it was debuted globally in Abu Dhabi late last year, but fortunately, we didn’t have to wait long for it to finally arrive at our shores. Marking the seventh generation of its flagship luxury SUV, Nissan Philippines has officially launched the 2025 Nissan Patrol (codenamed Y63), featuring a bold redesign, cutting-edge technology, and a powerful new twin-turbo engine poised to challenge rivals like the Toyota Land Cruiser 300.

Bold design meets functional elegance

The 2025 Patrol’s exterior embodies Nissan’s “Bold Presence” philosophy, blending muscular proportions with refined aesthetics. A wider, chrome-accented V-motion grille dominates the front fascia, flanked by sharp LED “double-C” headlights, while the rear features a full-width LED light bar.

For the Philippine market, the Patrol rides on 20-inch machine-cut alloy wheels (275/60R20 tires) and offers a striking two-tone finish that highlights its roofline.

A cabin crafted for comfort and innovation

Inside, the Patrol’s “Solid Dignity” ethos shines. The spacious cabin — boasting 107mm more front legroom and 145mm additional third-row space — is trimmed in quilted leather with contrasting tan accents, exuding an air of understated luxury. Tech takes center stage with a 28.6-inch “Monolith” dual-screen system (two 14.3-inch displays) that spans the dashboard, allowing the driver and front passenger to independently access navigation, media, and vehicle settings.

Rear passengers aren’t left behind: dual 12.8-inch entertainment screens with HDMI and USB connectivity cater to backseat entertainment, while a 12-speaker 600-watt Klipsch audio system elevates the auditory experience. The system features a DJX Virtual Surround Sound mode that replicates live concert acoustics.

Practicality isn’t sacrificed for luxury. The power-folding third-row seats and hands-free tailgate simplify cargo management, while the 30% larger cargo area (compared to the outgoing model) accommodates everything from golf bags to weekend luggage.

The Patrol’s next-gen powertrain

The Patrol will feature a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 (431-PS, 700-Nm), replacing the outgoing V8. This engine isn’t just about raw power. Mirror-bore coating on the cylinders reduces friction, while high-heat-resistant turbochargers maintain performance under heavy load. A scavenger oil pump ensures consistent lubrication even on steep inclines, which is a critical feature for off-road adventures. Paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case 4WD system featuring six drive modes (Standard, Eco, Sport, Sand, Mud, and Rock), the Patrol tempers its brute force with finesse.

Its Adaptive Air Suspension is a versatile feature that is designed to tackle diverse situations. At highway speeds, the system lowers itself for improved aerodynamics and stability. In off-road mode, it raises the body to tackle boulders or deep ruts. It also automatically lowers the vehicle when parked, making it easier to enter and exit.

Safety redefined with Nissan Intelligent Mobility

The Patrol showcases Nissan’s ProPilot driver-assist technologies that include adaptive cruise control with a Stop & Go function to reduce fatigue on long drives. Other safety features include Intelligent Lane Keep Assist, Intelligent Forward Collision, Intelligent Emergency Braking, Intelligent Lane Intervention, Lane Departure Warning, Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, High Beam Assist, and a 3D Intelligent Around View Monitor.

A reinforced body structure with high-strength steel improves crash protection, while six airbags (driver, front passenger, front sides, and side curtain shield) keep occupants safe during collision.

Since its introduction in 1951, the Nissan Patrol has always redefined the essence of the SUV. The 2025 Nissan Patrol continues this tradition in style and luxury, equally adept at navigating Manila’s streets and Luzon’s mountain trails.
