Late K-pop star Sulli’s family demands Kim Soo-hyun, cousin to clarify nude scene in film

The controversy involving Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun has widened with the family of the late K-pop star and actress Sulli demanding him and his cousin to clarify her bed and nude scenes in the movie “Real.”

Kim Soo-hyun and Sulli starred in “Real,” which was released in 2017. The movie’s director was changed to Lee Sa-rang, who is reportedly Kim Soo-hyun’s cousin.

Lee Sa-rang is the CEO of the production company for “Real” and the co-founder of Gold Medalist, Kim Soo-hyun’s current agency.

He is reportedly Kim Soo-hyun’s cousin but some Korean media reports referred to Lee Sa-rang as the actor’s half brother.

Kim Soo-hyun is currently embroiled in the controversy involving the late actress Kim Sae-ron. He is accused of dating her when she was a minor.

The family of Sulli, formerly of K-pop girl group f(x), has finally spoken about “Real.” Sulli passed away in October 2019.

Sulli’s older brother sent a statement to Korean media, saying, "We have spent the past 6 years in deep sorrow and tears, but we have also felt deep gratitude for the support and consideration of many people."

"I could not ignore the death of the late Kim Sae-ron and pass it by as if it were not my business. I express my deepest condolences to the late Kim Sae-ron's bereaved family," he said.

The brother wants Kim Soo-hyun and Lee Sa-rang to clarify details about “Real.”

He said he found out through the testimonies of the staff and actors at the funeral that the bed scene between Sulli and Kim Soo-hyun was not originally specified in the script.

When filming Sulli’s nude scene, there was a body double on the set but they did not use her for the scene and instead persuaded Sulli to film the bed and nude scenes.

The brother added that originally, the body double said she was sick and couldn’t come on the day of filming the bed scene and nude scene, but according to the testimonies of those in attendance at the funeral, the body double was on set. He is demanding Kim Soo-hyun and Lee Sa-rang to clarify whether this was true.

“I also heard a lot of news at Sulli’s funeral, but I only have three questions based on facts, so please answer them,” he said.

The brother said he would like to visit the family of Kim Sae-ron whenever they want.

In South Korea, “Real” recorded 470,195 in total admissions and $2.28 million in box office revenue.
