The Las Piñas Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) conducted an Inter-Barangay Fire Olympics, where fire brigades and fire volunteer teams participated in skills competitions and emergency response drills to enhance their preparedness.

Vice Mayor April Aguilar said the event was held on Saturday, March 29, at the SM Southmall Parking Area in Almanza Uno, with 19 fire brigades and two fire volunteer teams participating.

She said the competition aimed to strengthen the capacity of barangay-level responders by simulating real-life firefighting and rescue scenarios. The event was spearheaded by City Fire Marshal Supt. Josephus F. Alburo.

Aguilar said the activities included the bucket relay, blitz attack, busted hose replacement, fire extinguishment drill, and tug of war, each designed to test speed, coordination, technical knowledge, and teamwork under pressure.

She thanked the barangay fire brigades for their dedication and readiness, highlighting the city government's support for disaster preparedness and public safety.

The event ended with the Almanza Dos Fire Brigade winning the overall championship and receiving a P15,000 cash prize.

Aguilar added that the awarding marked a successful event, recognizing skilled responders and the importance of community safety.
