“Ako si Dodod Cadiao! Bata kang Norte kag Tumanduk kang Culasi! (I am Dodod Cadiao. I’m a child of the North and a native of Culasi),” Cadiao said at the grand rally in her hometown of Culasi during the start of the local campaign period.

Cadiao, who is serving her third and final term, is running for congresswoman against incumbent Rep. AA Legarda, the younger brother of Sen. Loren Legarda.

The governor used to be an ally of the Legardas.  Cadiao and Sen. Legarda ended the 30-year reign of the Javier political clan in 2019.

Cadiao has said that the Legardas are not real natives of Antique province following their political breakup.

Sen. Legarda maintained her Antique roots, especially her maternal grandparents who hail from Pandan town.

Cadiao’s slate has former Interior and Local Government Undersecretary Jonathan Tan for governor and former Caluya Mayor Genevive Lim-Reyes of Caluya for vice governor.
