5 PDLs bolt Basilan Provincial Jail

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Five Persons Deprived of Liberty bolted the Basilan Provincial Jail in Barangay Sumagdang, Isabela City, Basilan province on Sunday, March 30.

ONE of  the cells at the Basilan Provincial Jail in Isabela City, Basilan. 

The escapees were identified as Amar Mohammad of Al-Barka, Teddi Boga-Baguindan of Tipo-Tipo, Ibrahim Badju and Muad Ahmad of Mohammad Ajul, and Mahad Hassan of Sumisip.

Provincial jail guard Baser Halilulla said two persons went to the facility on the pretense of visiting an inmate.

After entering, the two individuals pointed a gun at the jail guards, ran towards the detention cell, and freed the inmates.

Basilan provincial jail and Isabela City police personnel are conducting manhunt operations against the escapees.

Basilan police chief Police Col. Cerrazid Umabong said all PNP units in Basilan have been ordered to conduct checkpoints to recapture the fugitives.
