Incentivize to urbanize: Mayor Abby to push for incentives for companies to hire locally

Makati City Mayor and senatorial aspirant Abby Binay has proposed the grant of incentives to companies and businesses that will hire locals as a viable solution to decongesting Metro Manila's traffic situation and improve local economies.
“Such a policy would create more jobs and increase local economic activity in so-called bedroom communities and address traffic and congestion concerns in Metro Manila” Binay said during her visit to San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.
She explained that this would benefit the province and other localities near Metro Manila regarded as “bedroom communities” where a considerable number of residents commute daily to work in Metro Manila.
“Kung meron namang trabaho na dito, hindi na sila kasama sa traffic. Kung may trabaho na dito, hindi na nila kailangan lumabas pa ng San Jose del Monte (If there are jobs here where they live, then they wouldn't add up to the traffic. If there are employment opportunities here, then they wouldn't need to go out of San Jose del Monte)," she added.
"Encourage more companies to open in the city and also incentivize those companies that actually hire the local residents in the city,” she stressed.
As the mayor of the country's "business capital," Binay has introduced various reforms and initiatives aimed at not just boosting Makati's economy but also the livelihood of Makatizens.
