Abalos thanks Governor Garcia for backing Senate bid in vote-rich Cebu

Senatorial candidate Benhur Abalos has thanked Cebu Govenor Gwendolyn Garcia for being one of the few Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas bets that have been endorsed by the lady official.

In a proclamation rally held in Barili on Friday, March 28, Garcia publicly raised Abalos’ hand in a gesture of support. She also endorsed fellow Alyansa candidates former senator Manny Pacquiao; and reelectionists Senator Bong Revilla, and Senator Francis Tolentino.

Abalos has extended his gratitude to the Garcia and the people of Cebu, which is traditionally a kingmaker as far as Philippine elections go.

“Kaya taus-puso po kaming nagpapasalamat sa buong team ng One Cebu, sa pangunguna ng ating napakagaling na Governor Gwen Garcia (That's why we give are heart-felt thanks to the whole team of One Cebu, headed by our great Governor Gwen Garcia)," said the former Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) secretary.

He also lauded Cebu’s significant contribution to the economy. “Cebu is one of the most progressive provinces in the whole country. It is an economic driver in all aspects of performance parating andiyan po ang Cebu."

Cebu has 3.7 registered voters for the May 2025 elections.

Abalos emphasized the importance of sustaining Cebu’s growth through effective governance.

“Kaya ang masasabi ko lang, sana may continuity of leadership (That's why I say, hopefully there's a continuity of leadership). Because it speaks for itself. The government speaks for itself," he said.
