The victims were identified as Sachzna Lexy, 6; Razan Kyle, 4, and Athena Lexy, 3. Their charred remains were found on the second floor of their house.

Councilor Joel Garganera said they were hugging each other when they were discovered during mopping-up operations. “It was painful to see, very painful,” Garganera said.

The victims had just bought taho (Filipino sweet silken tofu dessert) and were the only ones at home when the fire broke out at 8:51 a.m.

Their parents were not home during the fire. Their father is an e-trike driver and their mother, Ynica Marie Siaboc, was running some errands when the blaze started.

Garganera said she had no idea how the fire started. She said they do not have matchsticks, lighters, or butane in their house.

The fire was raised to first alarm and was controlled at 9:40 a.m. Fire out was declared at 11:01 a.m.

Twenty houses were destroyed by the fire. Damage to property was pegged at around P750,000.

Garganera said the city government will shoulder the cremation of the three siblings.
