University of Santo Tomas and De La Salle University try to regain their respective winning forms when they collide in the UAAP Season 87 women’s volleyball tournament at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Saturday, March 29.

The Golden Tigresses aim to end their two-game losing streak whey they face the Lady Spikers who they beat in five sets in their first round encounter.
Match is set at 5 p.m.
Opening the women’s action is a matchup between Adamson and Ateneo at 1 p.m.
Reeling from two straight defeats to current leaders National University (3-2) and Far Eastern University (3-1), UST remained unbothered and vowed to recover just like it did in the first round.
“Kung paano kami nag-start ng first round, same ngayong second round, so hopefully, kung paano kami nag-perform ulit, bumangon no’ng pagkatalo namin no’ng first game ng first round,” said UST skipper and libero Detdet Pepito.
“Maulit namin pero talagang [kailangang pagtrabahuhan pa namin… kasi nga ando’n na [kami] kulang nalang talaga ng maturity sa loob ng court, especially sa mga crucial moment,” she added.
Pepito is providing the leadership for UST while Cassie Carballo presides over the playmaking duties for hitters Reg Jurado and Angge Poyos.
On the other hand, La Salle, which is coming from a 25-19, 22-25, 25-20, 25-18 setback to NU, is leaning on Angel Canino and Shevana Laput.
