Mayor Vico introduced by father Vic as PH's future leader
“Ito na po, ipapakilala ko na po… ang susunod na presidente ng Pilipinas, Mayor Vico Sotto! (Let me introduce to you the next president of the Philippines, Mayor Vico Sotto!)

This was how television host Vic Sotto introduced his son, Mayor Vico Sotto, during the Giting ng Pasig kick-off rally at the Pasig City Mega Market on Friday, March 28.
The younger Sotto, however, downplayed the remark, saying his father may have just been carried away: "Huwag na natin pansinin ‘yun, na-carried away lang ‘yun” (My father probably just got carried away).
Sotto was introduced after Vic urged Pasigueños to continue the fight they started, which involves combatting corruption and proving that good governance is possible.
Sotto recalled that when he first filed his candidacy in 2018, some people wanted to support him but had to do so in secret. This included vendors selling biko (sounds like his name) in the market, parents of scholars, or those with relatives working at city hall.
He credited Pasigueños for starting the change when they elected him in 2019. One of his first actions was eliminating city hall-issued benefit cards, arguing that aid should be accessible to all residents, not just to a privileged few.
“Ang ipinaglaban natin ay para sa tunay, makabuluhan, at pangmatagalang pagbabago sa lungsod ng Pasig (We fought for real, meaningful, and lasting change in the city of Pasig), he added.
Aside from his father, Sotto's mother, Coney Reyes, and their supporters attended the kick-off rally. Sotto is seeking his third and final term as mayor.
