Reimagining the ramen experience by blending tradition with innovation

Standard Hospitality Group (SHG), in partnership with Ippudo Global, launched Ippudo Ramen Bar at Uptown Mall in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, on March 27. The first-of-its-kind concept blends Ippudo’s signature ramen craftsmanship with a contemporary, high-energy dining experience. Designed for the modern consumer, it features a sleek, stylish interior and a reimagined menu that offers a fresh take on ramen culture.

Ippudo Ramen Bar is set to become the ultimate destination for ramen lovers and Japanese cuisine enthusiasts alike. With its meticulously curated menu, expertly crafted cocktails, and vibrant atmosphere featuring fresh interiors and unique staff uniforms, it promises a memorable dining experience.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with Ippudo Global in creating Ippudo Ramen Bar, an evolution of what people love about Ippudo, while introducing new elements that elevate the overall experience," said John Concepcion, CEO and founder of Standard Hospitality Group. "This concept bridges the past and the future of ramen, offering an exciting menu and dynamic ambiance for both loyal fans and first-time guests."

The new space was designed in collaboration with Hong Kong-based architecture firm DEFT, led by SHG creative director Michael Concepcion. This collaboration presented an opportunity to develop a distinct brand identity, menu, and architectural direction tailored to the concept. The design balances Japanese tradition with a bold, modern approach, featuring clean lines, warm textures, and a dynamic, inviting atmosphere that reflects the evolution of the Ippudo experience. The uniforms were also designed in collaboration with contemporary multi-brand boutique, Commonwealth.

Staying true to its origins, Ippudo Ramen Bar features a menu deeply rooted in its signature tonkotsu ramen. Guests can enjoy both Ippudo’s world-famous classics and exclusive, never-before-seen ramen creations crafted specifically for this new concept. Expanding beyond ramen, Ippudo Ramen Bar also introduces a diverse selection of sushi and sashimi, created by handroll specialist @koyo.ph, alongside a collection of small plates, mains, and expertly crafted highballs by our award-winning bartender. The result is a well-rounded, modern dining experience that honors Japanese culinary heritage while embracing contemporary innovation.

This launch aligns with SHG's ambitious growth plans, which includes 12 new store openings across its portfolio of premium casual dining concepts. Under Concepcion's leadership, who brings over 35 years of experience building market-leading brands, SHG continues to grow its Japanese dining concepts including Ippudo, Kiwami (featuring Yabu, Ippudo, Koyo, Hannosuke, Hachibei, and Hokkaido Soft Cream), and café Elephant Grounds.
