It is important to provide the Muslim community ample support in growing their businesses, senatorial candidate Bam Aquino said.
“Mahalaga na ang mga negosyanteng Muslim natin, nabibigyan ng tamang tulong, tamang suporta, walang diskriminasyon upang maipagpatuloy po at mas mapalago pa ang mga negosyo ng kapatid nating Muslim (It is important that Muslim entrepreneurs are given the proper help, proper support, no discrimination in order for them to continue to grow their businesses)," Aquino said.
The former senator made the statement during his visit to a Muslim community in Quiapo, Manila to join them in celebrating Ramadan.
Aquino also called for an inclusive educational system which recognizes and values the tradition and culture of the Muslim community, as well as quality education for the Muslim community in order to give them an opportunity to succeed in life.
"Isa po tayo sa mga nagnanais na maging boses nila doon sa Senado pagbalik natin doon (We are one of those who wants to be a voice for them in our return to the Senate)," Aquino told the Muslim community in Manila.
Aquino was a co-author and co-sponsor of the Bangsamoro Organic Law or Republic Act 11054, which established the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
