CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija – Police arrested two of four suspects in the murder of a couple and their son in San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija on March 26.

The first suspect, a 38-year-old duck raiser from Barangay Mallorca, San Leonardo, was apprehended in Barangay San Joseph, Peñaranda, Nueva Ecija. Recovered from his possession were a caliber .45 pistol, a magazine with bullets, and a hand grenade.
The second suspect, a 51-year-old farmer and the elder brother of the first suspect, was arrested in Barangay Mallorca, San Leonardo.
Police Major Domingo Resma Jr., town police chief, identified the victims as Don Rey Geronimo, 55; his wife, Aurora, 52; and their son, Demarcus Ezra.
Resma said four armed men entered the victims' store and shot them in the head, killing them on the spot.
The suspects took Aurora’s bag containing an undetermined amount of money and her cellphone and fled onboard two motorcycles toward Barangay Bonifacio here.
Authorities remain active in the pursuit of the two remaining suspects.
"Our condolences go out to the victims' family. We condemn the brutal killing of this family and are committed to bringing all the perpetrators to justice. We will relentlessly pursue all leads, as we also need the community's assistance; your information, kept confidential, is crucial to our investigation," Nueva Ecija police chief Police Col. Ferdinand Germino said.
The arrested suspects have been charged with murder, violations of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), the Omnibus Election Code, and illegal possession of explosives.
