Police served two arrest warrants against Jose, a resident of Barangay Efigenio Lizares, Talisay City, for violation of Section 261Q of Batas Pambansa 881 (Omnibus Election Code) and grave threat in relation to Section 29 of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Law.

The warrants were issued by the Regional Trial Court (RTC) here dated March 24, 2025. The court recommended a bail of P36,000 and P120,000 for the two charges, respectively.

Police Capt. Judesses Catalogo, spokesperson for the Negros Occidental police, said the suspect went viral after he was captured firing a shot in front of a woman, who was taking a video of the situation in Hacienda San Antonio Dos, Barangay Dos Hermanas.

He was allegedly one of the security guards in the hacienda but was later confirmed not  to be connected with the security requested by a private individual to be deployed in the area.

Catalogo believed that the suspect may have fled to Guimaras after learning of the charges filed against him over the incident.

He said the suspect sought refuge at his wife’s family. Catalogo said the suspect was tagged as third most wanted person in Talisay City.
