Sotheby’s International Realty had its official launch here in the Philippines the other week. Held at the Peninsula Manila Hotel, several luxury real estate developers welcomed the entry of what will be known as Philippines Sotheby’s International Realty. Managing Partner Catherine Ocariz-Florencio and Director Thomas Florencio were on hand to welcome the guests, and have them do a walk through of the various developers who had set up tables to be part of the official launch.

Shang Properties, Arthaland, Ortigas Land, RHK Land Corporation, Landco Pacific, and the Discovery Group were among the developers who were showcasing their luxury projects. And it did not escape us that a number of the properties being highlighted were resort-type developments, from Batangas, all the way to Cebu and Samal Island in Davao.

The equity of the Sotheby’s brand name speaks for itself; and the Florencio family have added another ‘diamond’ to their bejeweled crown with this new venture. We wish them success as they promote the Philippines for direct foreign investments in the luxury real estate sector.
