The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Thursday, March 27 said a low-pressure area (LPA) will bring rainy conditions to Visayas and Mindanao, while Luzon will experience hot weather due to the easterlies.
PAGASA weather specialist Chenel Dominguez said the LPA, located 220 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone.
However, it will bring cloudy skies, scattered rains, and thunderstorms to the Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Davao Region.
PAGASA warned of the possibility of flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains from the LPA.
Meanwhile, Dominguez said the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, caused by the easterlies, or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean.
The public is advised to stay alert as severe thunderstorms could cause flash floods or landslides, especially in areas prone to these hazards.
