Coming from an 85-81 triumph over SJ Belangel and Daegu, Tamayo impressed and led the Sakers’ scoring spree in the second half where they erected a 27-point lead that put the game out of reach for the Thunders.
The Gilas Pilipinas standout tallied 15 points on top of five rebounds and four assists in 20 minutes of action.
It marked Tamayo’s fourth consecutive game with a double-digit scoring output which started last March 20 where he posted 32 in their 81-68 victory over the Ethan Alvano-led Wonju DB Promy.
Assem Marei (27) and Yu Ki-Sang (23) spearheaded the offense for the Sakers, who improved to 31-18 in second place.
Justin Gutang carried Seoul with his stellar statline of 19 points, four rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block which all went to waste.
With their loss, the Thunders plummeted to 10th after sustaining their 33rd defeat against 15 wins.
Later Thursday, March 27, former UAAP stars Kevin Quiambao (Goyang) and JD Cagulangan (Suwon) are facing each other for the third time on Korean soil.
