Hitman arrested in Cebu City drug sting

CEBU CITY – A suspected member of a gun-for-hire group was arrested in a buy-bust operation at dawn on Thursday, March 27, in Barangay Mambaling here.

Police identified the suspect as Nathaniel Sermillon Cenabre, 19, a member of the Gibo gun-for-hire group.

A recent police operation resulted in the arrest of Cenabre’s colleague.

Police said Cenabre admitted being part of the group but denied working as a hitman.

He said his role was a spotter and safekeep firearms.

The suspect yielded 105 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P714,000.

A .357 revolver with four bullets was also recovered from the suspect’s possession.

Police said the firearm will be examined to determine if it was used in crimes.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, Republic Act 10591, and election gun ban will be filed against the suspect.
