Election Officer Atty. Pinky Tentativa and ICPO Director Police Col. Kim Legada led the launching of the Kontra Bigay committee here recently.

“By combating vote-buying and enhancing public awareness, we work towards ensuring fair, transparent, and credible elections that safeguard our democratic principles,” said Legada.

The committee includes Prof. Ruben Gamala of Namfrel-Iloilo, Deputy City Prosecutor Victoria Heler, Police Lt. Col. Ryan S. Matutina of the 6th Regional Community Defense Group-Reserve Command, Atty. Janet Deligero of the Commission on Audit (COA), and DepEd City Schools Division Superintendent Ma. Luz de los Reyes.

Representatives from the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) and Civil Service Commission (CSC) were also present during the launching.

Legada reminded Iloilo City lawmen to remain apolitical.

“We are here to serve and protect the public, regardless of political affiliations. It is crucial that we demonstrate impartiality to uphold the integrity of the elections and maintain peace and order during this critical period,” Legada said.
