Calabarzon cops identify 8 poll hotspots

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – The Police Regional Office 4-A led by Police Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas has identified eight election hotspots in the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon region.

Under the yellow category or areas with a history of election-related incidents are the town of Santa Maria in Laguna; Mataas na Kahoy, San Jose, Taal, and Tanauan City in Batangas; and Candelaria and San Francisco in Quezon.

Tagkawayan is the only municipality under the orange category (areas with serious armed threats).

The Commission on Elections has trained 197 police personnel who can be deputized as special electoral board members.

Some 13,679 PRO 4-A personnel underwent a series of seminars on election laws and guidelines, basic life support, and other election-related matters.
