Don’t look now, but award-winning Kapuso star Alden Richards could soon be taking to the skies as a pilot.

During a media conference at Viva's main office in Pasig City on March 27, Alden said that he might consider the scholarship offered by an aviation school in Clark, Pampanga.

"There's an aviation school in Clark that offered a scholarship for me to become a pilot. Saka ko na idi-discuss kung sino yung nag-offer ng scholarship once it is finalized. But I am excited about that," he said.

Alden added that while his mom's dream was for him to be in showbiz, his father dreamt of becoming a pilot.

"Personal dream niya actually to become a pilot. Sabi ko sige dad, 58 or 59 ka na. Ako na lang. Hopefully this year, matapos ko na yung course. Lilipad na tayo. (His personal dream is actually to become a pilot. I said okay, Dad, you're 58 or 59. I'll do it. Hopefully, this year, I'll finish the course. We'll fly)," said Alden, who has been vocal about becoming a pilot for many years.

Alden, 33, feels no anxiety or fear about flying. He actually finds the whole process exciting, from boarding the plane to soaring through the clouds and watching the landscape get smaller below him.

"Wala akong fear of flying. Nag-sky dive nga ako sa Dubai eh. Mahilig ako sa mataas na lugar. I love to fly. Let's go. (I have no fear of flying. I skydived in Dubai. I love high places)," the hunk actor said.

Alden, Viva Group partnership

Alden is now called "boss" after his company, Myriad Entertainment, formed a significant partnership with the Viva Group of Companies.

Looking at what Viva has accomplished in film, music, live events, and the restaurant industry, the joint venture promises several opportunities that align with entertainment and a potential total lifestyle approach.

Myriad’s collaboration with Viva starts with films. Viva Films is known for producing blockbuster and well-acclaimed movies, and Myriad targets to produce two over-the-top (OTT) movies every year.

This partnership begins this 2025 with OOO, a Netflix film and the Filipino adaptation of the Thai supernatural film Pee-Mak, which will star Julia Barretto.

"This happened two years ago between Myriad and Viva regarding the partnership. Boss Vic (Del Rosario) and I are excited about the partnership. The first project I have done with them is 'Out of Order,' which will come out this year. It will be competing in four international film festivals," said Alden.

During the contract signing, Alden was welcomed by Vic Del Rosario, Chairman and CEO of Viva Group of Companies, and Vincent Del Rosario, President and COO of Viva Communications, Inc.

Besides films, Myriad will also co-produce live events with VAA Live, Viva’s arm for producing live events. The partnership aims to create memorable experiences with concertgoers, starting with Alden’s fourth major solo concert and other concert co-productions with Viva’s elite roster of performers from Viva Records.

Music will also be on the table for Myriad’s co-venture with Viva as Alden will produce an album with the aforementioned record label, which will include a number of original songs.

Lastly, Myriad will also be putting Conchas, the garden cafe co-managed by Alden since 2016, on the map. It is set to join Botejyu, Wing Zone, Paper Moon, Pepi Cubano, Yogorino, and Greyhound Cafe in the list of food businesses franchised by Viva Foods.

With a plethora of plans under its belt, Myriad positions itself as one of the entertainment companies to look out for starting this year, especially as it enters a brand new chapter with the Viva Group of Companies.
