Barely a month after realme unveiled the realme 14 Pro Series at MWC Barcelona 2025, the device maker officially launched its new smartphone lineup in the Philippines on March 20. The relatively brief interval between the global unveiling and the local launch can be viewed as a testament to the confidence of realme that the new series will be well received by Filipino consumers. The series consists of two models: the realme 14 Pro+ 5G and the realme 14 Pro 5G. In this review, let us explore the latter.

The realme 14 Pro 5G comes in two color variants: Suede Grey and Pearl White. Fortunately, realme handed us the latter because this model can demonstrate the cold-sensitive color-changing technology that the company debuted at MWC. By immersing the realme 14 Pro 5G in cold water (16°C), its back cover changed from plain white to iridescent pearl white. Depending on the angle from which it is perceived, the back cover exudes elegant hues of blue, beige, and silver.

Notably, the realme 14 Pro 5G remains functional even after submersion, proving its IP69 and IP68 ratings. These ratings indicate that the phone is dust-proof, water-resistant (capable of immersion up to two meters for 30 minutes, though not designed for exposure to seawater or salt water), and resistant to heat (up to 80°C), making it an ideal outdoor companion. In addition, the realme 14 Pro 5G sports a 4500-nit curved OLED display that stays readable even under bright sunlight.

To make the realme 14 Pro 5G an even better companion for outdoor adventures (especially this summer), realme has equipped it with a 50MP Sony OIS Underwater Camera. With its large 1/1.95” image sensor, f/1.88 aperture, 2× in-sensor zoom, and optical image stabilization (OIS), the phone's main camera can capture clear, vibrant photos even in low light situations or with moving subjects.

The rear features a 2MP black and white camera with f/2.4 aperture. In addition, the camera incorporates a Triple Flash System, which consists of three different LED lights that produce varying and customizable brightness levels and temperatures. The triple flash system can be used when capturing clear photos at night. On the front, the realme 14 Pro 5G also carries a 16MP Ultra Clear Selfie Camera, featuring a Sony IMX480 sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The rear camera supports 4K video recording, while the front camera is capable of recording in 1080p.

Both rear and front cameras work together with artificial intelligence (AI) for image enhancement. Some AI features present in the realme 14 Pro 5G include AI Ultra Clarity 2.0 (for removing blurs instantly), AI Snap Mode (for capturing fast-moving subjects), and AI Eraser 2.0 (for removing unwanted elements such as photobombers).

Within its thin profile, the realme 14 Pro 5G houses an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chip (four Arm Cortex-A78 and four Arm Cortex-A55) with Arm Mali-G615 MC2 GPU. The chip, together with up to 26GB total RAM (via 14GB dynamic RAM expansion) and 256GB onboard storage, can handle various applications on realme UI 6.0 (based on Android 15) smoothly.

Gaming is another strong point of the realme 14 Pro 5G, thanks to its optimized hardware setup and software environment. We ran Mobile Legends: Bang Bang on it without any issues at Ultra High Frame Rate and High Graphics settings. During gaming, battery and CPU temperatures ranged between 35°C and 40°C. These are cooler compared with the temperatures we got from some of the phones we reviewed previously, thanks to the Vapor Chamber Cooling System of the realme 14 Pro 5G. In AnTuTu Benchmark, the phone scored 737693, which still falls within the score range of the top 100 smartphones in AnTuTu Benchmark February 2025 ranking.

Because of the capabilities of the realme 14 Pro 5G, realme anticipates it will be a busy phone. To address this, realme equipped the smartphone with a 6000mAh battery, which is larger than the battery capacity of predecessors and other phones packed with 5000mAh battery modules. With a 6000mAh battery, the phone can support up to 17 hours of YouTube streaming or all-day use without needing to recharge. In addition, the realme 14 Pro 5G battery supports 45W SUPERVOOC Charge technology via USB-C port. With this technology, the phone can recharge up to 50% in 36 minutes and 100% in less than an hour.

The realme 14 Pro 5G is a timely offering this summer, perfect for accompanying friends and family on various outdoor activities. With its elegant back cover and slim profile, you might not expect the realme 14 Pro 5G to be suited for the outdoors.  However, it proves otherwise with its dust-proof and water-resistant features, remarkable screen, optimized hardware and software, and long battery life. Most importantly, it has impressive cameras that produce crystal clear images so you can immortalize your adventures through photos and videos.

In the Philippines, the realme 14 Pro 5G costs ₱21,999, while the realme 14 Pro+ 5G sells for ₱27,999, both of which are available in convenient payment terms through credit cards and financing services.
