Navotas City lone district Rep. Toby Tiangco has denied reports that the administration-backed Alansya para sa Bagong Pilipinas met with stalwarts from the Liberal Party (LP).
"That’s completely untrue. I haven’t met with Bam Aquino and Kiko Pangilinan," Tiangco, campaign manager of Alyansa, said in a short statement late Wednesday afternoon, March 26.
"The Alyansa slate is solid and fully aligned with President Bongbong Marcos’ agenda," added the Navotas congressman.
Tiangco issued the denial on the same day that Senator Imee Marcos, who had been part of Alyansa since the start of the campaign period last February, would no longer "stand on the same campaign platform" as the rest of the administration slate.
With this, the Alyansa senatorial line-up was reduced to 11 members.
LP members Aquino and Pangilinan are former senators who hope to make a comeback in the upper chamber.
LP is not part of the broad administration coalition that make up Alyansa.
