Man killed in QC hit-and-run

A 29-year-old man died after he was hit and run over by a car along Quirino Highway corner Pagkabuhay Road in Brgy. Bagbag, Novaliches, Quezon City on Tuesday, March 26.

According to the police report, the unidentified driver of a white sedan was traveling along Quirino Highway from P. Dela Cruz Street towards Mindanao Avenue when the vehicle hit the victim who was crossing the roadway around 1:50 a.m.

The driver fled and did not report the incident to the authorities.

Authorities identified the victim as Den Adrian John Viaje who sustained severe injuries. He rushed to Novaliches District Hospital by the Barangay Bagbag ambulance.

He was later transferred to Quezon City General Hospital where he was declared dead.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) is backtracking CCTV footage in the area to identify and locate the suspect.

 “I have directed Novaliches Police Station 4 and the District Traffic Enforcement Unit (DTEU) to conduct an in-depth investigation to identify and locate the driver responsible for the incident. I also urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident to report it to the nearest police station. Your cooperation is crucial in ensuring justice for the victim and holding the suspect accountable,” QCPD chief Police Col. Melecio Busilg Jr. said.
