The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said a landing craft tank and a dredger collided off Rosario, Cavite on Wednesday, March 26.
No casualty was recorded when LCT Nicia and MV Sangko Uno 66 crashed into each other but the two vessels sustained minor damages, the PCG said.
According to initial investigation, LCT Nicia was en route to Cebu while MV Sangko Uno came from Zambales and was on its way to a reclamation site in Pasay when the accident happened.
The PCG deployed a response team to secure the area. Fortunately, no oil spillage was observed in the vicinity waters of Rosario.
PCG Commandant, Adm. Ronnie Gil Gavan directed an investigation on the incident to determine what caused the collision.
LCT Nicia and MV Sangko Uno were underway to Manila for a marine casualty investigation (MCI) to be conducted by the Coast Guard.
