Still riding the momentum of their four-set victory over University of Santo Tomas, the Lady Tamaraws flexed their might right away and held their ground in the third when the Lady Warriors staged a furious comeback that almost stole the show.
Chen Tagaod took charge for FEU as she poured in 15 points on 14 attacks and one ace along with 11 excellent receptions and six excellent digs. Jaz Ellarrina and Gerz Petallo posted 17 and 15 points.
Karyll Miranda made her presence felt off 17 excellent sets to pace FEU, which jumped to second with its 6-3 win-loss record.
As expected, Khy Cepada and Van Bangayan steered UE with 13 and 10 points, respectively.
The Lady Warriors remained winless in nine games.
Meanwhile, FEU bounced back from a third-set stumble and tripped UE, 25-19, 25-17, 23-25, 25-18, for its ninth straight victory.
The Tamaraws continued their dominant display, leaning on their balanced offense to keep their perfect record.
Doula Ndongala led FEU’s scoring assault with 14 points while Mikko Espartero chipped in 12. Lirick Mendoza and Zhydryx Saavedra had 13 each for FEU, which extended its win streak to nine.
Xjhann Camaymayan and Isaiah Roca combined for 30 points while Raquim Aceron, who also had 34 excellent receptions, added 11 which all went down the drain for UE.
The Recto-based squad suffered its ninth loss in as many games and 16th consecutive since the second round of Season 86.
