“We conducted the reenactment as part of the case buildup,” said Police Capt. Aubrey Ayon, spokesperson of the Special Investigation Task Group (SITG).
The SITG led by Police Col. Arnel Ramos of the Aklan Police Provincial Office with the Aklan Provincial Prosecutor’s Office conducted the reenactment on Tuesday, March 25.
One of those present at the reenactment was a man who claimed to have witnessed the rape and murder of Michaela Mickova.
“We wanted to validate the truthfulness of the information he gave us,” Ayon said in a phone interview on Wednesday, March 26.
The man was arrested in a buy-bust operation last March 14 or two days after the body of 23-year-old victim was discovered.
The man who is facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 issued an affidavit claiming he knows the perpetrators.
The Malay Municipal Police Station under Police Lt. Col. Mark Joseph Ravelo is trying to verify the statements of those who came forward and claim to also know other information about the incident.
The SITG is awaiting the results of forensic examinations as well as DNA tests.
