Coming off a four-set victory over De La Salle, the Lady Bulldogs aim to reaffirm their mastery over the Fighting Maroons in their 11 a.m. encounter and take their ninth straight win to remain the only unbeaten squad in the field.

Far Eastern University, meanwhile, goes for its sixth victory against the helpless University of the East at 5 p.m.

Flaunting an 8-0 record, NU is well ahead of the pack that includes a three-way tie of La Salle, UST and FEU at 5-3.

The Lady Bulldogs, however, want to stay sharp as they gun for a second straight UAAP title.

“Despite sa mga ginawa namin kanina, marami pa rin kaming lapses and mga unnecessary errors, so kailangan ulit naming pagtrabahuhan ‘yon,” said NU setter Lams Lamina.

“Ganun din po kasi alam kopo ‘yong full capability ng team namin, so I think meron pa kaming kayang gawin… katulad ng sinabi ni Lams, marami kaming mga lapses,” added Bella Belen, who is on track on winning her third Most Valuable Player plum.

Lamina and Belen are expected to spearhead NU’s offense with Alyssa Solomon, Vange Alinsug, Erin Pangilinan, Alexa Mata, and Arah Panique providing the support.

On the other hand, the State U seeks to break away from a three-way tie with Adamson and Ateneo at 3-5.

Reeling from a heartbreaking 15-25, 25-23, 27-25, 30-32, 16-14 loss to the Blue Eagles, the Fighting Maroons are out for a bounce back win with Nina Ytang, Irah Jaboneta, Joan Monares, Kas Doering and Kianne Olango leading the way.
