New Bangsamoro Parliament vows to work for BARMM development

Newly appointed Bangsamoro Parliament officials on Monday vowed to work for the development of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

Interim Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua thanked President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for his administration's continued cooperation in the development of BARMM.

"Your firm commitment to implementing the Bangsamoro Organic Law shows the national government stands with us," Macacua said.

Macacua, BARMM Speaker Pangalian Balindong, and 33 other new appointees were inducted at the Heroes Hall in Malacañang.

"I thank the President for recognizing the long and arduous struggle of the Bangsamoro, especially the sacrifices of my fellow Mujahideen who fought for our right to self-determination. That recognition means a lot to us — it honors our past and strengthens our hope for a peaceful future," Macacua said.

"Your continued support for the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro and your firm commitment to implementing the Bangsamoro Organic Law show that the national government stands with us."

The event was witnessed by other government officials led by Special Assistant to the President Anton Lagdameo Jr. and Secretary Carlito Galvez of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity.

Macacua thanked Lagdameo and Galvez for their efforts in maintaining peace and open communication between the national and Bangsamoro governments.

Lagdameo welcomed the new appointees who he said are crucial in building the future of the Bangsamoro.

Macacua also thanked former interim Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim for leading BARMM in
the past six years.

Macacua said that they will continue and build on what he started.
