Malabon conducts festivities for Women's Month

The local government of Malabon held a motorcade and offered pampering services to the women in the city on Tuesday, March 25.

The motorcade with the theme “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas" aims to amplify the strength, resilience, and contributions of women.

Around 229 personnel from different city departments, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penalogy, tricycle drivers, organizations, groups of women and persons of disabilities gathered along C4 Road.


"Sa buwang ito, nawa ay maipaalala natin sa mga kababaihan ang kanilang mahalagang ambag sa ating komunidad. Ang mga tumayong ina at suporta sa patuloy na pagsasagawa ng mga aktibidad para sa pag-unlad, pagbabago, at pagpapabuti ng pamumuhay na nagpalakas sa ating pagkakaisa bilang mga mamamayan ng Malabon. Magkakasama tayo sa pag-angat! Deserve ninyo ang makilala, mabigyan ng suporta, at makapagpahinga. Happy Women's Month! (This month, may we be reminded of women's important contributions to our community. The mothers who stood up and supported us in carrying out activities for development, change, and improvement of life have strengthened our unity as the citizens of Malabon. Let's rise together! You deserve to be recognized, supported, and rested. Happy Women's Month!)," Mayor Jeannie Sandoval said.

After the motorcade, the city also held the Women's with Disabilities Day Celebration at Hulong Duhat Covered Court where participants underwent a seminar about the women's role in the community and development.


Free pampering services led by the City of Malabon Polytechnic Institute were also offered, including haircut, manicure, back massage, and eyebrow arching.

According to the city government, the program is a call to action for inclusion, recognition, and empowerment.

Makakaasa po kayo na nandito lang kami para sa inyo upang tumulong kung mayroon man kayong pangangailangan. Magkakakampi tayo sa pag-unlad (Our city government will definitely develop and support projects for women in the city. You can be sure that we are here for you to help if you have any needs. We will be partners in development)," City Administrator Dr. Alexander  Rosete said.
