Quezon City 1st district Rep. Arjo Atayde's first three years as congressman has been all about providing aid to his constituents in more ways than one.

In his State of the District Address (SODA), which he delivered Monday, March 24 at the SM City North Edsa’s Skydome, Atayde bared that over 400,000 local residents directly benefitted from the various initiatives

Atayde--husband of showbiz personality Maine Mendoza--reported that his Aksyon Agad program helped address the needs of his constituents as it covers matters on employment, education, health, youth development, disaster response, and infrastructure.

“Sa ilalim ng Aksyon Agad, naisakatuparan natin ang mga programang may direktang epekto sa pang-araw-araw na buhay ng ating mga mamamayan (Under Akyson Agad, we managed to implement programs that have a direct effect to the lives of our countrymen),” he said in his SODA.

The actor-turned-lawmaker said that in his three years in office, his Aksyon Agad program extended aid to 11,498 individuals who were given employment via the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/ Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program; 1,500 applicants who were able to secure overseas jobs through the Taiwan Job Fair;

Also under the solon's signature program, some 1,100 residents were trained under TESDA and other livelihood initiatives; and 245 small entrepreneurs received a ₱15,000-capital via the Sustainable Livelihood Program

Atayde also reported that 60 patients per day received free treatment at the dialysis facility of Quezon City’s first district, which opened in October 2024; while 75,466 individuals who needed medical assistance were also helped

He says 4,598 students received Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) educational aid; 929 senior high school students received a total of ₱2,817,000.00 in cash allowance under the Tulong Eskwela Program; and 1,410 scholars received support under Tulong Dunong and SMART.

A total of 132,567 families benefited from the Rice Distribution Program; 65,300 residents were given free meals through Kusina on Wheels; and 64,000 families benefited from the Pamaskong Handog initiative during the holiday season, Atayde added.

Moreover, 7,789 families affected by various fire incidents were assisted; 3,501 families received burial assistance; and 40,684 individuals were given financial help for various needs.

Atayde emphasized that what he has accomplished since 2022 was the fulfillment of his promise that “for every peso the government allocates for our district, we make sure nothing goes to waste".

“Lahat ay napupunta sa programang direktang makakatulong sa inyo (All of these funds go to programs that give direct assistance to you),” he said.

“Public service is not about grand gestures or sweet words—ito ay ang mabilis, epektibo, at tunay na pagtugon sa pangangailangan ng tao (it's about fast, effective, and real response to the needs of people)," Atayde said.
